Immunisation
Overview
In this section you can find out about parents’ experiences of immunising their children by listening to people share their personal stories on film.
Researchers travelled all around the UK to talk to 45 parents in their own homes.
Find out what people said about issues such as getting information from other parents, concerns, and deciding about giving their child the MMR vaccination.
We hope you find the information here helpful and reassuring.

Interview 21: Yeah, I think, objective information I would like to see that, really objective information. Not coloured in any sense, really giving me both advantages and disadvantages, statistics, as much information as possible.
Interview 11: So you can't just look at yourself. You should look at.., at future, what can happen in the future.
Interview 38: I kind of felt, unlike with our local doctor who are, you know, other people were commenting ‘oh they’ll just give you the party line’, I felt as if she was telling me exactly what all the facts were, as well as the fact she was a mother, and she was also being honest with me about how she felt about it.
Interview 12: You do just have to go through it, you have to trawl and make your own judgments about what you think is right and what's wrong and ultimately, it's your gut instinct as a parent.
